JBL Professional's SR-4700 Series has been Live Wire Systems’ choice in loudspeakers since 1992. With all the different brands, makes and models out there, why does Live Wire Systems choose JBL and why JBL’s SR-4700 Series?

Before answering these two questions, lets take a look at some of JBL’s history. JBL made two major developments that revolutionized speaker technology in today’s world of professional entertainment. In 1982, JBL introduced pure titanium diaphragm compression drivers. Compression drivers are used to produce mid to high frequencies in a loudspeaker. This development has now become the industry’s standard in loudspeaker technology. In 1990, JBL developed VGC (vented gap cooling) low frequency transducers. (Vented gap cooling) greatly reduces heat buildup along a speaker’s voice coil resulting in lower sound distortion at higher volume levels, greater power handling and unsurpassed reliability. This development has also become the industry’s standard in loudspeaker technology.

JBL Professional has driven some of musical history’s largest touring acts such as British rock band "The Who". JBL Professional provided sound reinforcement for more than a quarter of a million people at Woodstock 1969, 1994 and they became "the official Sound of Woodstock" in 1999.

Live Wire Systems chooses JBL Professional loudspeakers because JBL has been one of the most respected names in the professional audio industry for decades.

Live Wire Systems only uses JBL Professional’s SR-4700 Series loudspeakers because the SR-4700 Series contains the same components found in JBL’s (Concert Series). Every SR-4700 Series loudspeaker contains JBL’s pure titanium diaphragm compression drivers and also JBL’s patented VGC (vented gap cooling) low frequency transducers.

JBL Professional’s SR-4700 Series loudspeakers have been one of the most prestigious and most reliable portable loudspeaker systems since they were first introduced in 1991.

Unfortunately, many customers don’t realize that various JBL loudspeaker models, Electro-Voice, Peavey and other brands of professional audio are not of the same caliber so we’ve designed a specifications chart below, featuring some of the most commonly used loudspeakers in our area during the early 2000s. We’ve also featured Live Wire Systems’ smallest loudspeaker, JBL Professional’s (12 inch) SR-4722.

Live Wire Systems uses JBL Professional’s SR-4700 Series loudspeakers, powered by Crown amplification because these two names are "unsurpassed in reliability".
